Project Overview

Radio Masti 89.6 wanted to take its strong FM radio presence beyond traditional broadcasting and create a dedicated digital platform for its listeners.

We developed a cross-platform mobile application that brings together live radio, music, podcasts, shows and video content in a single, easy-to-use application.

The app is available for both iOS and Android, providing listeners with a consistent experience across platforms.

The application also extends the listening experience into vehicles through Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, allowing supported in-car systems to provide access to compatible audio experiences.

The Challenge

Traditional FM radio is limited by where and how listeners can access it.

Radio Masti needed a digital platform that could:

• Extend FM listening to smartphones

• Provide an always-available live radio experience

• Offer podcasts and recorded content

• Showcase trending tracks and stories

• Create an engaging mobile UI

• Support both Android and iOS

• Provide an in-car listening experience

• Make frequently accessed content easy to discover

The goal was to transform Radio Masti from a traditional broadcast experience into a complete digital entertainment ecosystem.

Our Solution

We designed and developed a dedicated Radio Masti 89.6 mobile application using React Native, allowing the application to deliver a consistent experience across iOS and Android.

The application was built around four major experiences:

Listen → Watch → Podcasts → Explore

This structure makes it easy for users to move between live radio, audio content and video stories.

01. React Native Mobile Application

The application was developed using React Native, enabling a shared cross-platform development approach while maintaining a native-feeling experience.

The interface was designed specifically around the Radio Masti brand, using its distinctive colours, typography, imagery and visual identity.

The result is a consistent application experience across supported mobile platforms.

02. Live FM Radio

At the heart of the application is the Radio Masti 89.6 live radio experience.

Users can start listening directly from the application through the prominent radio player.

The experience is designed around quick access:

Open App → Tap Radio Masti 89.6 → Start Listening

This puts the station's live broadcast only one tap away.

03. Music Player

We implemented a dedicated audio playback experience for the application.

The music player provides users with an intuitive way to start and control audio content while keeping the listening experience simple.

This creates a digital extension of the traditional FM listening experience.

04. Podcast & Audio Content

Radio Masti's audio content is presented through a dedicated Podcasts / Echoes On-Air experience.

Users can discover different audio stories and select content according to their interests.

Examples include:

• Climate Change on Water

• Horror Stories

• RJ-based audio stories

• Special radio features

• Informational programs

The card-based interface makes discovering new audio content simple and engaging.

05. Video & Interview Experience

The application also provides a dedicated Watch / Stream Stories section.

Users can discover video interviews, conversations and special programs from Radio Masti.

The interface highlights featured videos along with additional content under sections such as Talk with Radio Masti.

This creates a bridge between radio broadcasting and digital video content.

06. Trending Tracks

The home screen includes a Trending Tracks section that brings popular or featured audio content closer to the listener.

Each item provides:

• Artwork

• Track/story title

• Description

• Play button

This gives users an experience similar to modern music and podcast applications while retaining Radio Masti's identity.

07. Simple Mobile Navigation

The application uses a simple bottom navigation system that provides quick access to the major sections.

Users can move between:

Radio → Podcasts → Videos → More

The navigation was designed to minimize complexity and keep the focus on content.

08. Modern Side Menu

A dedicated side menu provides access to additional application sections such as:

• RJs / Shows

• Read

• Social Media

• Other Radio Masti content

The menu keeps secondary navigation accessible without making the main interface crowded.

09. Apple CarPlay & Android Auto

The application was designed to extend the listening experience into connected vehicles through Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

This is particularly relevant for a radio application because listeners frequently consume audio content while travelling.

Car-focused integrations are designed around dashboard-based interaction and supported playback controls rather than requiring users to operate the phone directly.

10. API Integration

The application uses API Integration to connect the mobile interface with the Radio Masti content ecosystem.

This allows dynamic content such as:

• Radio information

• Shows

• Podcasts

• Videos

• Articles

• Featured content

• Other media

to be delivered to the application without relying on static app content.

The Result

The result is a complete mobile-first digital platform that brings Radio Masti 89.6 closer to its audience beyond traditional FM broadcasting.

Listeners can access live radio, discover podcasts, explore stories, watch interviews and interact with the station's digital content from one application.

The app complements Radio Masti's existing local presence. The station describes itself as serving Sri Ganganagar and surrounding regions, broadcasting 17 hours daily from 6 AM to 11 PM.
