Refund & Cancellation Policy

At TechCartel, we provide customized technology and digital services based on each client's specific requirements. This Refund & Cancellation Policy explains when payments may or may not be refundable for services purchased from or contracted with TechCartel.

By confirming a project, accepting a quotation or proposal, or making a payment to TechCartel, the client agrees to this policy.

1. Nature of Our Services

TechCartel provides professional and customized services including website development, mobile application development, custom software development, UI/UX design, API integrations, digital marketing, maintenance, technical support, cloud-related services, and other technology solutions.

Because our services generally involve dedicated professional time, planning, development resources, and customized work, payments are not automatically refundable once work has commenced.

2. Advance Payments

An advance payment may be required before starting a project.

Once the project has commenced and resources have been allocated, the advance payment is generally non-refundable to the extent it covers work already performed, resources committed, or non-recoverable costs incurred.

If the client cancels a project before work begins, TechCartel may consider a refund after deducting any administrative, consultation, planning, or third-party costs already incurred.

3. Milestone-Based Projects

For projects divided into milestones, payments associated with a completed or approved milestone are generally non-refundable.

If a project is cancelled during an ongoing milestone, TechCartel may calculate charges based on work completed up to the cancellation date.

Any eligible remaining balance may then be considered for refund after adjustment of applicable charges.

4. Cancellation by Client

A client may request cancellation by contacting TechCartel in writing.

Upon receiving the cancellation request, work on the project may be stopped at an appropriate point.

The client will remain responsible for:

  • Work completed before cancellation;
  • Development or design hours already spent;
  • Approved or completed milestones;
  • Resources already allocated or committed;
  • Third-party purchases or subscriptions;
  • Other non-recoverable expenses incurred specifically for the project.

Any refund eligibility will be determined after these amounts are adjusted.

5. Change of Mind

Refunds will generally not be provided merely because the client:

  • Changes their mind after work has started;
  • Decides not to continue the business or project;
  • No longer requires the completed work;
  • Selects another service provider after commencement;
  • Fails to provide required content, credentials, approvals, or feedback;
  • Changes requirements after approving the original project scope.

Where appropriate, TechCartel may offer to modify the project scope through a mutually agreed change request instead.

6. Custom Development & Design Services

Payments for custom websites, mobile applications, software, UI/UX designs, graphics, integrations, or other customized deliverables are generally non-refundable once the applicable work has been completed and delivered according to the agreed scope.

A client's preference for a different design or functionality does not by itself create a refund entitlement where the delivered work conforms to the approved requirements.

Reasonable corrections for genuine defects within the agreed scope will ordinarily be handled through the applicable revision, warranty, or support process.

7. Digital Marketing Services

Fees paid for completed digital marketing work, campaign management, SEO, social media management, content creation, or similar professional services are generally non-refundable once the relevant service period or work has commenced.

TechCartel does not guarantee specific sales, leads, search rankings, followers, conversions, revenue, or return on investment unless a specific measurable commitment has been expressly agreed in writing.

Advertising budgets paid to third-party platforms are subject to the policies of those platforms.

8. Third-Party Payments

Payments made for third-party services are generally non-refundable by TechCartel once purchased or committed.

These may include:

Domain registration, hosting, cloud servers, SSL certificates, premium themes, plugins, software licences, APIs, SMS/OTP credits, WhatsApp services, email services, payment gateway charges, Apple Developer fees, Google Play fees, advertising spend, stock assets, and other external services.

Any refund for a third-party service will depend on the refund policy of the respective provider.

9. App Store & Play Store Approval

Where TechCartel develops or submits an application to platforms such as the Apple App Store or Google Play, approval remains under the control of the respective platform.

Rejection, delayed approval, suspension, removal, or a change in platform policies does not automatically qualify the client for a refund for development work already completed.

Where additional development is required to comply with new or changed platform requirements, additional charges may apply depending on the agreed project scope.

10. Project Delays

A refund will generally not be applicable where project delays result from circumstances outside TechCartel's reasonable control, including:

  • Delay in receiving client feedback;
  • Delayed approvals;
  • Delayed payments;
  • Missing content or credentials;
  • Changes in requirements;
  • Third-party API issues;
  • Hosting or server problems outside our control;
  • App Store or Play Store review delays;
  • Third-party service interruptions;
  • Force majeure or other circumstances beyond reasonable control.

If a material delay is directly attributable to TechCartel, both parties should first attempt to agree on a revised delivery schedule or another reasonable resolution.

11. Client Inactivity

If a project is placed on hold because the client does not provide required information, feedback, approvals, content, credentials, or payments for an extended period, the project may be treated as inactive.

Payments already made for completed work or resources allocated to the project will generally not be refundable.

Restarting a substantially delayed project may require a revised timeline and, where circumstances or requirements have changed, additional charges.

12. Duplicate or Incorrect Payments

If a client accidentally makes a duplicate payment or pays an incorrect amount, they should contact TechCartel as soon as possible.

After verification, any confirmed excess amount will be refunded or adjusted against an outstanding invoice, as mutually agreed.

13. Refund Request Process

To request a refund, the client should contact TechCartel in writing and provide:

  • Client/company name;
  • Project or service name;
  • Invoice or payment reference;
  • Payment date and amount;
  • Reason for requesting the refund;
  • Relevant supporting information.

TechCartel will review the request along with the applicable quotation, scope of work, work already completed, milestones, and third-party expenses.

14. Approved Refunds

If a refund is approved, the refundable amount will be calculated after deducting applicable charges for work completed, committed resources, payment-processing costs where legally permissible, and non-refundable third-party expenses.

Approved refunds will normally be processed to the original payment method or another mutually agreed method.

Banking or payment-provider processing times may apply after TechCartel initiates the refund.

15. Chargebacks & Payment Disputes

Clients are encouraged to contact TechCartel first if they believe a payment has been made incorrectly or there is a dispute regarding a service.

Both parties should attempt to resolve genuine billing or service disputes through direct communication before initiating a payment dispute or chargeback.

Nothing in this policy limits any rights or remedies that cannot legally be excluded under applicable law.

16. Cancellation by TechCartel

TechCartel may discontinue or cancel a project in circumstances such as non-payment, abusive conduct, unlawful project requirements, repeated failure to cooperate, material breach of agreed terms, or circumstances that make continued delivery impracticable.

Any financial settlement in such circumstances will take into account work already completed, outstanding payments, committed resources, and applicable third-party costs.

17. Consumer Rights

Nothing in this Refund & Cancellation Policy is intended to exclude, restrict, or override any refund, cancellation, or other rights that a client may have under applicable Indian law and that cannot legally be waived.

Where applicable law provides greater rights than this policy, the applicable legal requirements will prevail.

18. Changes to This Policy

TechCartel may update this Refund & Cancellation Policy periodically to reflect changes in its services, business practices, payment processes, or applicable legal requirements.

The latest version published on the website will apply from its stated effective date, subject to any separately agreed contractual terms.
